EXPANDING OUR IMPACT
Currently, our focus is on establishing key foundational components on our property in Liberia. This includes multiple clean water projects, satellite internet, solar power, and the completion of two exisisting building by the end of 2026.
In March, we completed a land survey to begin the process of developing the 14.5 acres we own into a multipurpose campus to assist us in rebuilding the community we are in. This survey is also the first step in the purchase neighboring property generously offered to us by the landowners which will give us a total of 20 acres. This expansion will allow us to pursue new projects, establishing year-round farming and agriculture development, and building a community hall.
PROJECTS
Water Projects
Our intention is to have more than one source of water available on our property. We are reviewing proposals from well drilling companies in hopes our property has viable land to drill a well.
At the same time that we are pursuing the placement of a well on our property, we are also looking to develop rain water collection. This will give us more than one resource for water continue to develop our property with long term water sustainaility. Rain water collection will then become a skill we can teach to the students participating in our Youth Enrichment Program.
SOLAR POWER
A key component to establishing our campus is electricity. Our first step is seeking out the process of hooking up to LEC ( Liberia Electric Company).
We already have portions of the equipment needed to set up Solar Power and we are raising the funds to purchase the remaining supplies.
As we preparing to ship supplies to our property in Liberia by the end of 2026 we plan to include generators.
Our goal is to be self sustaining so that we are equipped to effectively help those in need.
Satellite Internet
DWAM International has hit the ground running to start 2026. We are so pleased to be partnering with Tanacom LLC. to bring satellite internet to our property and to the surrounding community.
This will make communications between our U.S. and Liberian teams much easier and clearer and we will be able to make digital internet tokens available at a small cost that will help support better communications in the community and assist our organization in covering operating costs.
DWAM Initiatives
Agricultural Development & Education.
As we develop our property in Liberia, we are preparing portions of our land to grow our own food, making DWAM Campus self-sufficient. We will build up this program to utilize our farming as a way to provide job training and education for youth and young adults. In this program students will learn everything from soil and crop cultivation to raising chickens and goats. Right now our staff on DWAM campus are working on a one-acre garden to begin growing foods that will helps sustain our team members while we are developing.
What is Cassava?
One of the most valuable crops in Liberia is the cassava plant. Cassava is a hardy tuber that can be grown almost anywhere and processed into food and other products. Tuber crops like cassava, potatoes, and yams can even be cultivated in large buckets or bags, and is an easy way to begin teach children. Our goal is to train and empower children and families to produce their own food, creating sustainable solutions to food shortages.
